Priime Styles App Reviews

Perfect.

There are numerous photography tools that I really enjoy, but the two that significantly improved my photos are 1) A manual camera 2) Priime Given the large number of filter apps out there, I was really skeptical about the high price, but it is by far the best. The price is completely justified.

very good & stylish filter extension for the photos app

the update just brought three new lovely filters. and having used it for a little while now, the app really grows on me. it may be more expensive than other filter apps but it is by far the best I’ve tried. granted not every filter looks good on every picture - but that’s the nature of the beast. if you want something that works for every picture you gotta get something like Affinity Photo and bring some time Priime is definitely quicker and it also offers results that you wouldn’t have tried in an Editor app.

Ok styles but I regret the purchase at over $30

I made a mistake buying this. For what you get you’d be much better off with Google’s Nik ColorEfex or VSCO film packs. This is a lot of money for what it is, and when you open the app and realize how few customization options you have you wonder why they bothered to make this stand alone software rather than lightroom presets. Overpriced and I got sucked in hoping for something new and exciting. I really need to stop falling for these “featured" photo apps. Two stars.

Basically it’s a filter app.

I hate to say this. It’s not worth $40. It’s a filter app. But I like the iOS version. Better luck next time.

Love this app!

I’ve had Priime for my ipad since it launched a while ago, and I love it. When they announced this version for OSX, I immediately bought it for my desktop workflow. My literal only complaint is that it doesn’t, as far as I can tell, come with the “suggested” panel where it evaluates your image and suggests what filters would look best. That’s something I love on the ios version. With so very many great filters, I don’t have them memorized so I can’t know without clicking through all of them which one I want to use. So that’s my only suggestion.

Fantastic! But…..

Love this app, particularly the wealth of presets integrated into Photos. HOWEVER, there are a few features that are begging to be added: 1) Favorites. THere is just no easy way to quickly refrence the presets that you use the most often. 2) Similar. If there is a fliter that is looking almost perfect, it would be great to have a few other options that are related. 3) Different browse modes. It would be nice to have some inclination of which filters work best for what sort of shot. Instead of just seeing an alphabetical list of filters, a thematic organizationg would be so helpful. As to the actual filters, they are perefect, and so easy to use.

Priime finally on OS X!

I’m a long time user of Priime on my phone, their filters (styles) are amazing and make my photos look really good. I’ve been wanting to have Priime for Lightroom on my Mac, now it’s finally here and the app is amazing. The UI is super simple and intuitive, and the app works great with Lightroom and Apple’s Photos app (as an extension), I love how it only applies styles, and doesn’t try to do other things Lightroom and Photos.app already do. My workflow now is do process lightly in Lr, open photo in Priime, apply style, adjust style strength, “done” and back to Lr and share. Simply amazing! Version 1.1 adds style organization and exploer page improvements, making it even better!

Priime Styles

Priime Styles is so good. Let me count the ways. For $30 one time, EVERYTHING is unlocked. There are NO SUBSCRIPTION COSTS and NO HIDDEN CHARGES in the app. Try getting a single "pack" anywhere else and youre looking at $50+ usually just for a handful of filters. Then do that over and over again to match the amount of variety that this app has. This has everything included and ready to use. Drag a photo in, pick the filter, export it. It looks like theres a Photos.app extension and a way to use it from Lightroom too! Lots of filters (they call them styles) to choose from, and this latest update has tons of organization options for them. I marked a few of the filters as favorites and a little star shows up next to it, and I can see them in their own list. The app itself has tons of nice touches everywhere that are so well thought out. You can tell they really care about making a great application for OSX. It has a list of categories in it, each of them is like its own filter pack. I just got the latest update and they call them: - Vibrant - Faded - Bright - Dark - Warm - Cool - Landscape - Architecture - Interior - Portrait At first I thought you could just edit 1 photo at a time, like a lot of other apps limit you to. Then I dragged in a different photo, and it showed up next to the first one! And put the filter on it too! Then I put a whole set in there and it still worked. Really, REALLY nice feature and makes it that much more powerful. Again THIS IS ALL INCLUDED in the app. As someone who takes lots and lots of DSLR photos, its essential to have great photo editing on my Mac. I transfer photos straight to my hard drive and I want a professional look on my sets before I send them out. I used to have really annoying workflows that were always breaking in different ways, now I just use this app. It completely changed the game.

Tasteful

This is a set of really polished looks, more extensive than other film packs out there at a much lower price. Also a new format to see them released as an app/photos extension than as preset packs for other apps. I like how descriptive the filters are, and that they didn’t try to make this app yet another photoshop competitor. I would describe these as tasteful and subtle filters, more in the world of professional / film-like looks than super strong edits.

Incredible & Easy to Use Editing Tool

I was a big fan of Priime’s iPhone app, but I love their desktop app even more! With Lightroom integration it fits perfectly into my work flow and it’s super powerful, making my RAW photos look super sharp. It’s also great that, unlike VSCO, you can quickly change the intensity of a Priime style for a less intense look. Priime also has a wide range of styles for different shots and looks, so much so that I’ve completed stopped using VSCO film packs and edit all of my photos exclusively with Priime. Plus, it’s super cost effective and you don’t have to pick between packs, you’re given all of the styles when you download! I can’t recommend it enough.

Nice, but...

I was thinking this app had some meat to it in the way of editing… this app allows you to choose a ‘style’ to enhance a photo and that’s it… period… nothing more. Very disappointing… I’d actually like a refund of my $29 as it is not what I want at all. :(

I’m in love

Okay so I NEVER write reviews for anything but this app was just so incredible that I had to give it the props it deservers. The onle reason I gave it five stars is it so good and helpful, it have a lot features for me edit, Thank you!!!

Great app

Priime Styles works amazingly well as an extention to the Photos app on Mac. It is so simple to use, yet makes a huge difference. I really like that you can use it as a stand alone app

great app

My pictures have become true style with this application. It has hundreds of styles leading compliant with excellent display quality for your choice freely.

great app

Its great your pictures will become professionals with the best quality pixek. Do not worry about your image formats as it supports many different image formats. 5 stars are gods really enough for its quality.

Better than expected

Priime Styles is awesome. I’d been hoping for a Mac version of the excellent iOS app. I use it for all my photos on iOS and now I can use it for my various dSLR and m4/3 cameras (granted with the excellent Priime for iOS update, I could import photos onto my iPhone and use Priime that way too) and on a larger screen. I think it’s great they made Priime able to work in other workflows, and I’ll definitely take advantage, but really think I’ll use the app apart from those other workflows, since the app itself is so nice. I love the Explore feature letting me see the different styles at once. Knowing the improvements that came to the iOS app, I can only imagine how much better this already fantastic Mac app will get. The styles are so tasteful and well done. And really give photos a distinct feel, not just “filtered.” One way you can tell they are nice is you can put the effect on full application or slide it back down and it looks great at any level. You can tell they worked with actual photographers to make them. Great first step into the Mac world.

Doesn’t Work So Far

I just bought this and whenever I save a pic in Photos all I get is white space. Destroys the photo and I have to revert to original to not loose the image. Very disapointing for $25

Joke…don’t waste your money!

Don’t waste your money!!! This app is a joke! Editors choice? Why????? Definitely not pro….. If you purchase this app I’m sure youll want your money back immediately. One star, even less!

Underwhelming for the price

It’s a very simple interface with 100 filters. Save your money.
